What changes when converting WebP to JPEG?
JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent WebP pixels are filled with your Matte color. Animated WebP is rejected instead of silently exporting its first frame.
Will JPEG always be smaller than WebP?
No. Dimensions, image content, quality, and browser encoding affect size. Exact source and output bytes and the percentage increase or decrease are shown. Larger results can still be downloaded.
Which images can I process?
Choose one still PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 20 MiB and 24,000,000 pixels. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected. The file bytes decide the input format, even when its name or MIME label says otherwise.
Is metadata preserved or securely removed?
The browser re-encodes pixels with orientation applied. EXIF and ICC preservation is not guaranteed. This is not a verified metadata sanitizer; inspect sensitive output separately.
